Privacy Policy

Spinwax identifies vinyl records from a photo, estimates what they are worth, and keeps them in your personal collection. This page explains exactly what the app stores, what leaves your phone, and what you can delete.
The short version: we collect what the app needs to work and nothing else. There is no advertising, no analytics SDK, no tracking across other apps or websites, and nothing is sold or shared with data brokers.
What we collect

We do not collect your name, phone number, address, contacts, precise location, or health data. We do not access your photo library beyond the images you explicitly pick or take inside the app.
Starting without an account
On first launch the app creates an anonymous account on our server. It has no email and no personal details — it exists so your collection has somewhere to live. If you never add an email, that account stays tied to that installation: delete the app and the collection is not recoverable.
Who processes the data
- Supabase — hosting, database and file storage (United States). Your records and photos live here.
- OpenAI — reads the text on the record label from the photo you scanned. The image is sent for that single request. Per OpenAI's API terms, content sent through the API is not used to train their models.
- Discogs — the pressing database and marketplace prices. We send only the text read from the label (artist, title, catalogue number), never your photo or anything about you.
- Apple — handles the payment and subscription. We never see your card details.
Your control
- Delete any record from its screen — the photo goes with it.
- Delete the whole account and everything in it: write to the address below and it is removed within 30 days.
- Cancel a subscription any time in your Apple ID settings.
- Depending on where you live (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your data. Ask and we will do it.
Children
Spinwax is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has used the app, write to us and we will delete the account.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Records are readable only by the account that created them, enforced at the database level. Photos are stored in a private bucket that requires a signed link to open.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the app will point you here before the change applies to you.
